LimeWire, Gnutella ağı üzerinden kullanıcılarına hizmet veren bir dosya paylaşım yazılımıdır. Açık kaynak kodlu bir yazılım olduğundan tümüyle ücretsiz olarak sunulmaktadır. Birçok farklı kategoride arama yapabilmenizi sağlamaktadır; ses, video, görüntü, belge ve program dosyaları. Ayrıca herhangi bir kategori belirtmeden de arama yapılabilmektedir.
Yazılım özellikle ses dosyalarını bulabilmesi ile ünlüdür. Arama yapabilmek için ses dosyasının, parçayı seslendirenin veya bulunduğu albümün adını bilmeniz yeterlidir. Bilgileri uygun alanlara girdikten sonra “Search”(Ara) düğmesine basmanız gerekmektedir. Yazılım size dosyanın bulunduğu tüm kaynakları indirilme sayısına göre sıralayacaktır...
